FAQ's
What types of photography do you offer?
I offer a wide variety of portrait packages including professional headshots, family portraits, engagement photos, senior pictures, graduation portraits, maternity photos, engagement photos, and band promo photos. Please note that I do not offer wedding or newborn photography.
How long do the sessions typically take?
I suggest blocking out 3 hours for your shoot but if everything runs smoothly, we will wrap up early. The time frame includes travel time between locations. For portrait and couple sessions, plan on about 1 hour per outfit. Be mindful of how long it takes to change into each outfit as well.
Why do I have to pay a deposit?
Paying a deposit locks in your date + time. If you cancel at the last minute, I probably won’t be able to book another client for that slot. Your booking is confirmed only once the deposit has been paid.
When do I pay the remaining balance? And can I pay it all upfront?
The remainder of your balance is due immediately following your shoot before we both depart. No images will be delivered until the final payment is made.
What happens if the weather is bad?
If the weather is crazy/you are sick/I am sick/etc, we will put your deposit toward a re-schedule. However, if you simply don’t show up to the session, the deposit will not be refunded. I get it— life happens. However, if you need to cancel and do not want to re-schedule, your deposit is not refunded. Sorry!
Can I bring a friend along?
Yes you can bring a friend, parent, spouse! Whoever can cheer you on + whatever will make you feel more comfortable, go for it!
How + when will I receive my photos?
You will receive the edited images within 1-2 weeks following your session. If you need the photos sooner, please let me know (a rush fee will apply). A few hours after the session I will send you a few sneak peek photos. You will receive all of the files via ShootProof, which is an easy + free online gallery. I will email you a link to your gallery once I finish editing the images. You then can order prints of your photos, forward to your friends + family, and post them online! Download links do expire after two weeks, so be sure to download your images asap! Make sure to save + backup your images.
How long do you store our images?
I clean out my client files every 3 months, so be sure to download the images and create your own backups. I do not store the raw files for more than 2 months.
Do I get to choose which images I want?
No. Part of my job is selecting the images and choosing the most flattering photographs. The images I discard are repeats, blurry, or otherwise not the best. I have no reason to withhold any images if there are additional ones I think you would enjoy! I am on your side.
Can I have the unedited or RAW images?
No, I’m sorry but I do not give out the raw or unedited images.
What if I don’t want my photos used on your social media, website, or anywhere online?
Please make it clear in your initial contact email if this is the case and let me know the reason. The sole way I market my photography services (and how you found me!) is the internet and I rely on sharing my photos to bring in clients.
NOTE:
You are responsible for your own transportation to each location, gas, parking, as well as any other permits that may be needed for the location we’re shooting at. You are encouraged (but not required) to bring small props if you would like to include them in the shoot.
